Pd (Pure Data) is a graphical programming language and open source project with a large and growing user base. It is widely used by artists to create interactive computer music and multimedia works.

Pd is available (for free) at: puredata.info

The Pd club is a periodic, informal gathering (a "patching circle") where Providence-area patchers can work together, exchange ideas, troubleshoot, and learn from one another. Each upcoming session features an introductory lesson by Pd club organizer, Shawn Greenlee.

The club is open to all, from beginners to experts. Artists, students, hobbyists, and the "just-curious" are welcome. If you have a laptop, please bring it along as lab computers are limited.

Upcoming meetings are scheduled for 7PM on the following Mondays: 11/2, 11/16, 11/30 & 12/14.

All sessions are from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

All area patchers are welcome, from beginner to expert. Attendance is free. Bring your laptop with Pd-extended installed. Meeting events include lessons/tutorials, group handiwork/troubleshooting, discussion, show-and-tell, and whatever else may arise.

Welcome to Pd (s3g) !

Simply put, the purpose of this (mini)site is to support those interested in learning the graphical programming language Pd (Pure Data)... in particular those in the Providence-area who take part in the Pd club at AS220 Labs and my students at the Rhode Island School of Design... so things are aimed at a local community, but welcome anyone!

Here you will find tutorials and patches that I have assembled, as well as links to other learning resources.
